Shimano has also redesigned the mid-level XC5 cross-country mountain bike shoes for 2020 to deliver a more comfort, stability and grip. The XC5 utilize a one-piece composite material surround upper construction that improves comfort. The shoe’s design lowers the stack height which improves stability. Shimano’s exclusive, grippy Michelin® rubber outsole design has cascaded down from the premium XC7 shoe for the new XC5/XC5W. The outsole’s rubber compound provides optimal grip and traction in different parts of the outsole.
