What is DMBA?

Durham Mountain Biking Association is a non-profit association whose mission is to create, enhance and preserve trail opportunities for mountain bikers in Durham and York Regions. We formed in the fall of 2005 to advocate for mountain bikers in the Durham Region. With a growing membership, who live across the Greater Toronto Area, we have evolved and expanded our representation of and for the mountain biking community.

Ride With Us

DMBA rides are intended for members and are open to the public as well. This is a great way for riders to learn the best trails in the area and make new friends! We rate our rides in four ways: technical difficulty of the trails, pace of the group, the distance and the duration of the ride.

When you arrive at a group ride, there will be organizers to guide you so you can confidently join the appropriate group.

Weekly Group Rides

We'll host regular group rides on Monday and Wednesday evenings, plus Saturday mornings.

Monday Evenings, Women's Ride:

Join us for the women's night on the trails! Beginner & Intermediate groups will be fun, social, guided and coached. Advanced rides will be for those women looking for a faster and more challenging ride. Rides will be 1.5 - 2 hours. Lights will be required for fall rides.

Tuesday Evenings, Family Ride:

Every Tuesday in the Durham Forest Main clearing. Please note that parents need to stay and ride with their children, helmets are mandatory and ALL riders need to be able to ride a 2-wheel bicycle. See event calendar for start times.

Wednesday Evenings, Group Ride:

Meet in the Durham Forest Main clearing. We brake into several groups identified according to Beginner, Easy, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert. See event calendar for start times as they vary.

Thursday Evening Ride, Anyone Ride:

Ravenshoe Forest (or Brown Hill Tract) consists of approximately 15 km of single track. The trails consist of sand, mud, roots, logs, boardwalks and skinnies. Some trails are technical and mosquitoes love to follow you through these sections!! Trails are fairly flat with 257m of elevation. Group rides of all levels meet every Thursday evening and are posted weekly on the club web site. Meet at the McCowan parking lot. We'll split into groups if we need to accommodate numbers and/or different skill/fitness levels.

Saturday Morning, Beginner Ride:

A welcome beginners ride is held every Saturday morning at Durham Forest for newcomers to the sport, to get comfortable on the trails at a relaxed pace. Gather at 9:45am and start at 10:00am
